1/3/17 Michaela K.

1/3/17
In today's class, there were two paths the students could take. The first path and objective being, "IWBAT create a substantial podcast that analyzes evidence and establishes goals based on previous reflection," and the other was, "IWBAT apply revision and other edition practices to make substantial and deliberate improvements to a critical review." Each student and group had several options to how the week is going to play out. Some can work on the pre-production page today, record tomorrow, and work on the revised review on Thursday and Friday; however, most decided to record either Thursday or Friday and work on the revised revision today. Additionally, we have to create a podcast reflection, and the steps are as follows: listen, post a comment on something you want to improve on and or  get better at. We are aiming to achieve mastery.
Today's primary focus was revision and the question, "Can you make it better?" The goal of revision is to improve and to make the text stronger. The revision worked on today was the “Feast” review that we all worked on as a class. This task was independent work and it is going to take more than just one day to complete. We had to edit and maneuver through the review and make changes that we thought would better the finished product. For example, I added a title and eliminated repetitive adjectives and verbs and replaced them with new and improved ones. We also have to write a brief paragraph that evaluated the review. Overall, today's class consisted of a lot of reading, rewriting, and revising.
