Michael Loh 3/13/17

Today was a very different day than what we have gotten ourselves accustomed to in the recent weeks. Rather than working on our senior papers and video reviews, we had a lesson on how to write intros and conclusions. It's not the typical lesson that you would expect from an English teacher though. We watched a short clip from Pirates of the Carribean and talked about how it introduced Jack Sparrow. We talked about how it introduced things like character and setting. We also Neo's ending statement from the matrix. We looked at how it concluded the Matrix and specifically how it reffered back to previous events and how it looked towards the (garbage) future (of the Matrix 2 and 3). When shifting towards talking about the future, it changed tense from present to future. The purpose of addressing what comes next answers the question of "so what?" and "why is any of this important?". If you can answer those questions, then your conclusion is probably fairly decent. The due dates for these projects are coming up and I hope that you guys have all been working on your stuff (because you done goofed if haven't). It's a lot of work and it's definitely worth getting a little done every night. In terms of where I'm at, I have my outline in draft format, and I'm just adding in stuff to make it better. For my video review, I have my script written and I just need to record it and put in clips. For anyone that needs help getting their stuff done, here...
(>*.*)> take my energy :)

I think that the video review is a super fun project and I'm enjoying making it. It reminds me of the documentary project I worked on in Video 2. It's slightly different though. For one, this project is a lot heavier on the research and analysis part, whereas the project in video was more about the editing aspect. I enjoy it though. It's fun researching stuff about shows I like and talking about them.
