The Classroom: By Michael Loh

The Classroom, a story following Tomas Torres, a senior with a strange personality, as he struggles through a normal day of school. The story takes place at Sparta High School, a school with a predominantly rich, white population. Tomas has a tough time making friends and finding a date for prom. He doesn’t seem to fit in and is challenged by everyday life. Will he succeed, or will he succumb to life’s most ordinary life problems.
Along the way, many other interesting characters appear to add some spice to the show. There is Chris, the engineer who has a strange obsession with lanyards. Today is the day where he goes to a college interview to try and get into his dream college, Maine Lanyard-Time Academy. There is KJ, the nerdy weeb that just wants to play some Smash with his friends. There is Ben Lee, the “normal” kid with a knack for stealing and making money. There is Mikey, the gang leader that just wants to be left alone. How many of these guys are going to get through the day just a little bit happier?
This show tries to play off of The Office’s film style. The characters in this film are aware of the cameras that are recording them, and they also interact with them through interviews. Characters often describe their viewpoints and opinions on what might be taking place in the show. This creates a very personal bridge between the characters and the audience, as it feels as though the characters are talking directly to those watching.
It’s a creative take on what a “normal” day of school is like. These might not be the most common personalities you might find in a school setting, but they sure are interesting. This isn’t any old typical high school movie you might be accustomed to, this is The Classroom.

  9. That was the greatest piece of cinematography ever produced. La La Land has nothing on this art. All intentions were met above and beyond.

  17. Mike, you killed it man. You did a really good job of developing the characters' personalities by showing rather than telling. Also, you made very funny with jokes that apply to high schoolers and to each of the individual characters.

  20. The video was done well, it showed that a it of time was put into it. All of the intentions were met however, the first intention was achieved the best. The events lead to overdecorated personalities.
