After time off with dealing with shin splints, Lexi is able to run again. To run the 1600 meters she learned to love as a race to see how her shins have been. Lexi is nervous at first but her coach and friend Ashley talk before the race goes off and are able to get Lexi in the mindset of the race and ready to run. Soon the mile goes off and Lexi goes though a mental checklist in her head. What she doesn't know soon catches up to the pain that lexi feels when running. Everyone stopes to watch a Lexi keeps running the mile with no pain at first. Soon the pain in her leg starts to over come her thoughts and as soon as she crosses the finish line, everything goes black. Lexi finds herself going in and out of a comma fighting to stay awake and understand what is going on. But to understand what is going on, Lexi keeps having these dreams about her running the 1600 race right before she blacks out. Every time Lexi gets close to figuring out what is going on in the dream it stops short and results in Lexi waking up. But each time as Lexi has the dreams, they reveal different clues to what happened and how this race changed the mindset she had. With the help of her friends and family, Lexi is able overcome different obstacles especially the mental ones of not knowing what’s going on. Lexi’s friend Ashley plays a big part in the dreams as always being there and knowing how to get Lexi to keep going when all she wants to do is stop.
My three intentions were; to show that the main character is confused and doesn’t really know what doing on and why she keeps going into these dream states. Lexi wakes up and gets confused on what is going on and how the race she just ran helps her. To see how these dream states help the main character to find herself and to keep her fighting thought the surgery and to not stop and shut down. These dreams explain/show what is happening and what everyone else see. To help the main character know that she can still run and beat the injury while having the help of her friends and family by her side.
Ideal cast:
Lexi - Keira Knightley
Ashley - Emma Watson
Jake - Orlando Bloom
Mrs. Scott - Angelina Jolie
Mr. Scott - Brad Pitt
Doctor - Ryan Reynolds
Coach - Sean Connery
